Remember -- today is just the beginning of the season. Hardwork works -- don't fall into the mental traps of, "I just aged up" ... "the times are so fast" ... or let the idea of "it's too hard" ... or "I can't" hold you back. Everyone -- and I do mean everyone -- has the opportunity to improve, grow, and get faster. Can it be hard? Yes -- but the mental attitude you bring, and the effort you bring to your practices will do more to hold you back or help you succeed. Don't look back on this summer and wonder, "if only I had ..." Go for it!

I can honestly say, I don't believe we've ever qualified this many swimmers at our intrasquad event. Great job. Moreover, I believe our swimmers overall are starting off far better than we have any of the past 5 years I've been here. We qualified 26 swimmers in 74 events at intrasquad. In 2021, at the end of the season, we qualified 19 swimmers in 50 events, with a team about the same size we currently have. almost 30% of the team has already qualified for City Meet. As a general rule of thumb, about 30% of all GPSA Swimmers qualify for City Meet each summer. Last year, Willow Oaks qualified 55% of our team -- and a good number of those were first-year swimmers, or even had aged up. Keep. it. up. We have only just begun!
